JK-NHM Employees Urges LG Authorities To Address Their Commitments Made In 2018.
Srinagar: The national health mission employees on tuesday urged the Lieutenant Governor JK UT, Manoj Sinha to fulfill their requirements cum demands made in earlier 2018.
In a statement issued here, President, JK NHM Employees Association Muneer Andrabi said that, Under the ambit of NHM, there are more than 10,000 National Health Mission employees, including doctors, paramedics and managerial professionals, have dedicated prime of their youth in service of the people of the JK-UT since 2007 and have been instrumental in improving the healthcare indicators of the UT. However, these professionals, who have been selected through set recruitment process of the government, find themselves grappling with prospects of a dark and uncertain future. Lack of job security, and meagre wages are the main issues facing the employees working under the ambit of NHM.
“To address some of the issues, the Government had made several commitments in January 2018 but the commitments are yet to be fulfilled. It is requested that the commitments already agreed by the government to be fulfilled forthwith to restore the confidence of the suffering employees in the idea of justice and fairness of the system”, reads a handout received here,
It is pertinent to mention here that, committee set up by the government has already submitted a report to the Health & Medical Education department and recommended phased regularisation of the NHM employees.
In this context, they have requested the LG led administration that in the spirit of welfare of UT, and with the intention of providing justice to the aggrieved, a final job/regularisation policy to be framed for employees working under ambit of NHM in J&K-UT through creation of fresh posts or phased absorption in the H&ME department including new medical colleges against available vacancies.
