Police helps tourists, pregnant lady in Budgam

Srinagar, Jan 12 (KS) :- Police in Central Kashmir’s Budgam rescued 34 stranded tourists and helped a woman who was on way to reach the hospital amid snowfall and slippery road conditions.

An official told the kashmir Scroll that Budgam police rendered a helping hand to one pregnant lady stranded at Shenni pora area of Khansahib while 4 tourists were also facilitated when they had stuck between Rayar and Yarikhah Doodpathri road due to sudden snowfall.

Police station Khansahib received a distress call that one lady from Shenni pora area of Khansahib had developed labour issues being pregnant and needs to be shifted to SDH Hospital Khansahib immediately but due to snowfall and slippery conditions of the road they are not able to deliver patient to hospital, he said.

 Accordingly, police team of Police Station Khansahib was deputed and the lady was brought to SDH hospital Khansahib safely, he said.

Meanwhile, another distress call received by Police Station Khansahib that some tourists were stuck at Rayar while travelling in their vehicles due to sudden snowfall, he said while adding that police party of Police Station Khansahib facilitated them upto Yarikhah.

34 Tourists were provided with necessary assistance & help and subseqthly they travelled safely in their vehicles, he said

Meanwhile, the tourists expressed their gratitude towards Budgam police for timely help. (KS)
