INDIAN ARMY ORGANISES DRUGMULLA PREMIER LEAGUE (DPL) 2023

Kupwara, May 19 : As a part of ongoing efforts to channelize the youth of Kashmir positively, like every year Drugmulla Premier League (DPL)-2023 was organized at Anderhama Cricket Ground by Indian Army. A total of 16 teams from Drugmulla Block participated with full enthusiasm and zeal in the tournament which commenced from 10th of May 2023.

 The tournament was conducted on pool cum knock out basis and the teams were divided into two pools. Two matches were played everyday starting form 10th of May in knock ourlt stage. Four teams from each pool qualified for quarter finals, out of which four teams qualified for semi finals which were played on 17 May 2023. After tough and nail biting matches to reach to the winner’s trophy, Star Eleven, Andherhama and Gymkhana Drugmulla qualified for final.

The much awaited final was played between Gymkhana Drugmulla and Star 11, Anderhama cricket team at the Anderhama Cricket Ground on 19 May 2023 which was attended by locals in large numbers who were seen cheering their respective. In a nail biting finish, Gymkhana Drugmulla emerged victoriousby 16 runs

The winners and runners up were awarded with cash prize, trophy and individual medals. Conduct of such sports event are beneficial for youth and children. The locals appreciated the effort of Indian Army and praised the hard work and enthusiasm of all players.
