Srinagar, Feb 09 (KNO): Concerned about preserving the houseboats, the owners here have sought the government assistance for license renewal and timer supply for the repairing.
President of the Houseboat Association of Kashmir (HBOA), Manzoor Pakhtoon, stated that houseboat owners in Kashmir are concerned over the administrative hurdles affecting their livelihoods.
He added that the owners of houseboats in Dal Lake, Nigeen Lake, and other places are facing immense hardships in getting their licenses renewed while the shortage of timber supply has added to their woes.
Speaking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Pakhtoon said, “Our license renewals are pending in the honorable court, until our licenses are renewed, we cannot avail the schemes of the government.”
He appealed the government to look into the matter and redress their genuine demands at an earliest—(KNO)
