Budgam, Jul 16 : In an inspiring display of young expression, 11-year-old Syed Mohammad Naqeeb Raza Razvi captivates the audience with the narration of Waqai Karbala on the occasion of the 9th of Muharram at Ichgam Budgam.
As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the event, commemorating the martyrdom of Hussain ibn Ali (AS), the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), drew a captivated audience as the young storyteller skillfully recounted the historic events.
Wearing a black dress, Naqeeb vibrantly described how Hussain (AS), faced with the choice between supporting the oppressive rule of Yazid or standing up against oppression, chose the path of honesty.
“Hussain had a choice: to support the oppressor and live a comfortable luxury life, or to refuse and likely be killed for his decision. Hussain refused and said, ‘I only desire to spread good morals and prevent evil,”. Naqeeb recounted, his voice resonating with belief and passion.
The young narrator’s expressive performance stressed the never-ending legacy of Hussain’s (AS) sacrifice, emphasising his unwavering commitment to justice and moral integrity. Naqeeb’s performance not only paid tribute to the bravery and resilience of Hussain (AS) but also served as a powerful reminder of the timeless struggle against oppression. Other participants were visibly moved by Naqeeb’s narrative, with many expressing admiration for his deep understanding of historical events and his ability to convey their significance with such clarity.
“It’s heartening to see such young individuals taking an active interest in our history and culture,” remarked one attendee. “Naqeeb’s narration was not only informative but also deeply inspiring.”—(KNO)
