Srinagar 03oct 2024: Buyer-Seller Meet in Kashmir HDFC Parivartan is an initiative by HDFC Bank dedicated to driving positive change and promoting sustainable development across various sectors.
With a focus on community empowerment, the program aims to create lasting impact and contribute to the betterment of society.
HDFC Parivartan and ISAP India Foundation, a prominent non-profit organization dedicated to the upliftment of the agricultural sector, joined forces to empower Kashmir’s socioeconomic development through a successful Buyer-Seller Meet held on October 3rd, 2024, at Srinagar’s Hotel Crown prince.
The event marked a significant step forward in bolstering the region’s economy.
The Buyer-Seller Meet, a collaborative effort between HDFC Parivartan and ISAP India Foundation, aimed to create synergies between prominent buyers and project farmers growing various crops including fresh fruits, dry fruits, lavender, Saffron and rearing fish among others. The event provided a dynamic platform for fostering new business linkages, thus empowering the local farming community in Kashmir.

The Buyer-Seller Meet served as a catalyst for economic empowerment by facilitating direct interactions between buyers and farmers. By forging new business connections, the event has opened doors to enhanced market access translating into increased incomes for the local farming community.

The landmark event aimed at strengthening the agricultural supply chain, fresh fruit buyers across the Kashmir Valley engaged directly with local farmers from the Farmers Producer Companies (FPCs) to negotiate procurement deals for apples. This collaborative initiative has been instrumental in enhancing market access for farmers and fostering sustainable agricultural practices in the region.
The event also saw participation from buyers of dry fruits, saffron, and lavender, who praised the efforts of ISAP India Foundation in facilitating these vital connections between farmers and stakeholders. The positive feedback highlights the growing recognition of the importance of collaboration in enhancing the agricultural ecosystem in Kashmir.
In addition to fresh produce, various fertilizer companies and input firms signed agreements with the FPCs, underscoring the commitment to improving agricultural productivity. Participants expressed high satisfaction with the outcomes of the buyer-seller event, which not only paved the way for new business opportunities but also reinforced the foundation for future collaborations.

The successful outcomes of this initiative signal a promising future for agri-Horti trade in the region, fostering sustainable practices and ensuring the livelihoods of local farmers.
