Media Conclave held in Lalchowk Srinagar, Key Media issues discussed

Beig Shamim Ahmed : 2 December : A mega Media Conclave was held today at Hotel Lala Rukh Lalchowk Srinagar to discuss main issues faced by the media of Kashmir especially with reference to working Journalists and owners of media institutions.
Eminent Journalist and Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board member Suhail Kazmi, the BJP J&K spokesperson and head of party’s Policy Research department Thakur Abhijeet Jasrotia, eminent BJP leader Surinder Ambardar , Prominent Journalist and Editor in Chief Heaven Mail Iqball Ahmad and well known Journalist Arshid Mir dawned the occasion.
On the occasion, fixing of minimum wages to working Journalists and providing them all important Provident Fund and insurance cover was demanded in one voice.
On the other hand issues faced Media fraternity and by owners and editor in Chief’s especially with respect to disparity in the Government advertisements were discussed and justice for same was demanded.
The journalists raised the issue of hounding of media persons by the information department, demanding of press club, medical facilities , Insurance policies , long pending geniune issue of Empanelment of Newspapers ,residential and official Accomodation of Journalist and Newspaper owners of Jammu and Kashmir and also raised the lack of responsive administration to the stories filed by journalists.
“No one in administration responds to journalists queries or questions regarding a story he is working in. it has particularly hindered the work of journalists during Covid pandemic and Turmoil.
The other issue which journalists raised are functioning of newspaper organizations and allotting of government advertisements to the local media outlets.
The Media Conclave also stressed upon the Government to make Kashmir press club functional for betterment of media institution in Jammu and Kashmir, and let capable brains run it.
The Suhail Kazmi former Press club Chairman,Senior Journalist and Editor in Chief Daily Taskeen and Waqf Board member assured the media persons that all these issues have been noted and “something good is in pipeline for media fraternity of Jammu and Kashmir in coming days and assured every possible help and support.
While speaking on occasion Mr Surinder Ambardar Former MLC and BJP leader talked at length on history, Mystics identity of Kashmir, he lambasted all political, separatist and Pak sponsored leader who legitimised Violence and promotes false Ecosystems. He said it is the media fraternity which is do course corrections to polluted narrative.
He said Modi ji philosophy of One Nation one Goal is way ahead .
Mr Abijeet Jasrotia State spokesperson and Prabari Social Media emphatically conveyed that Media men working for transformation of positivity will be rewarded and will uphold the hands of right meaning media groups .
Apprising that Modi ji mission is bring comprehensive developments for which media should play complimentary role.
Mr Abhijeet Jasrotia has highlighted the role of media as bridge between people and administration and appreciated the positive role played by the Kashmir media in this regard. Today’s meeting is a realization and acceptance that media has to a role and responsibility to act as bridge between people and administration and can prove as medium for interaction between People and the Government.
The Media fraternity comprised members and of Muzafar Ahmed Khan, Arshid Mir, Mohammad Iqbal, Journalist Beig Shamim Ahmed ,Rahi Nazeer ,Shabnam Fayaz ,Basharat Bukhari Mehraj u Din Faraz ,Shakeel Azad Bashir Naaz , Shabnam Javid , Ruby Nisar ,Zahid Bhat ,Suhail Ahmed KNS and others.
The participants in unison vowed to fight for the issues faced by the Journalist community of Jammu and Kashmir.
