Event held at conference hall of Radisson Blu canal view Dubai. In a glittering ceremony, attended by The Hon’ble Minister of Environmental & water resources Government of United Arab Emirates UAE. And attended by a galaxy of intellectuals, civil society members and civil and police officers. Mr. Majid Rashid Wani hails from Rangwar Baramulla and is a well-known student leader,social worker philanthropist.
They are among the Top 100 who demonstrate excellence and the highest standards of ethical conduct, integrity, and civic and social responsibility by raising the bar of living. Out of 30000+ applications received only few were selected. Majid is one among them.
He studied in Government School and by dint of hard labour, dedication and perseverance he did his Masters from The University of Kashmir . During the Covid 19 Pandemic, he did Yeomans job of helping the needy who were rendered jobless and also managed vaccination of common people besides helping covid patients in their treatment and facilitating their stay in hospitals and attending to their day to day needs.
During covid lockdown he motivated students to attend online classes and he was himself teaching the students virtually. He also motivated youth to be part of blood donation camps and persuaded them to join skill-oriented courses offered by the Government of J&K.
He organised youth to participate in many sports competitions and thus was instrumental in diverting their energy in productive activities and saved them from social evils like drug addiction, liquor, gambling and anti-national activities. Being an active member of Bharat Scouts & Guides & also N. C.C he has contributed a lot in moulding the minds of students and youth towards nation-building, peace and progress in this conflict-ridden U. T. of Jammu and Kashmir.
