Father, brothers killed girl for talking to boyfriend on phone

Police arrested a 52-year-old man Mustafa Ahmed and his two sons for allegedly killing his own daughter at Ichindasai under Chakradharpur thana area of West Singhbhum.

Ahmed had heard his daughter, Sadia Kausar, talking over her cell phone with somebody. Suspecting the girl to be involved in any affair, thrashed her to death. Later he asked his sons, Sheikh Bokab (18) and Sheikh Sadab (25) to drop the body in a well situated on the premises of his own house.

The sons had tied the body with bricks before dumping it into the well so as to hide the evidence.

Revealing the breakthrough, the West Singhbhum SP, Ashutosh Shekhar today said this is a case of honour killing and the father and sons were arrested for the heinous crime they committed.

“Ahmed had first informed the police that his 20-year-old daughter went missing. The police, however, traced the victim’s cell phone at her house only. Then Ahmed lodged an FIR alleging an unknown miscreant had abducted his daughter. But the police carried out the meticulously with the support of the technical cell before finally recovering the body from the well itself. On being interrogated, the accused persons confessed the crime,” said Shekhar while addressing a press conference this evening.
