Body of Budgam man fished out after 23 days from Jehlum

Srinagar, Mar 9: The dead body of a man who allegedly jumped into the river Jehlum in Srinagar was retrieved after 23 days in the Safakadal area of the old city.

Police sources told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that a man from Central Kashmir’s Budgam district had jumped into the Jehlum river on 15 February last month. They said today his body was retrieved by the River Police.

The deceased has been identified as Hilal Ahmed Bhat, a resident of Khag Budga. [KNT]
