Budgam, Mar 29, KNT: Ferocious dogs attacked and subsequently killed at least 9 sheep in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday.

The sheep belong to one Farooq Ahmed Parra, a resident of Sonpah Khatirunah village of Budgam while dogs killed the sheep in Sodipora Beerwah hamlet.

Farooq Ahmed told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that a pack of dogs possible 7 in number pounced upon the sheep and killed 9 of them.

“Nearly 9 sheep had been killed and another 2 had to be put down due to injury,” he said adding that dogs entered the kennel and attacked the sheep.

Farooq Ahmed while appealing to authorities to compensate him for his losses urged the administration to curb the dog menace in the district.

Last week, dogs had critically injured an elderly woman in the same district. [KNT]
