During the trailer launch event of Adipurush, producer Bhushan Kumar remembers his late father Gulshan Kumar.
Bhushan Kumar, the chairman and managing director of T-Series, opened up about his father, the late Gulshan Kumar, and his devotion towards spirituality during the trailer launch of Adipurush. Gulshan Kumar was known for his love for devotional music and had released several bhajans and aartis under the T-Series banner. Bhushan went on to explain how saying yes to Om Raut for Adipurush felt like a direction given by his late father.
He asserted, “Main bahut khush hu aaj mere papa ka sapna pura ho raha hai kyunki aap sab log jante hai ki mere papa ne devotion pe bahut filmein banai hai, khud ke upar gaane bhi kiye hai, gaane gaaye bhi hai. Toh mere liye bahut hi emotional moment hai (I am very happy today because my father’s dream is coming true, as you all know that my father has made many films on devotion, and he has also sang songs featuring him. So, it is a very emotional moment for me).”
He continued, “Mere papa ne Vaishno Devi par film banai hai Chaar Dhaam par film banai hai. Jab Om ne mujhe, lockdown ke time par hum film banane ki soch rahe the Tanhaji ke baad. Toh Om ne mujey bola achanak ek din phone karke bola mujhe Ramayan banani hai (My father has made a film on Vaishno Devi and also made films on Chaar Dhaam. When Om approached me during the lockdown time, after Tanhaji, to make a film, he suddenly called me one day and said that he wants to make Ramayana).”
Kumar further added, “Meko papa ki directions lagi ki mujhe usse time usko haan bol dena chahiye ke wohi ye film bana rahe hai. Toh mujey bhot khushi hai ke itney acche level par ye film bani hai and I am very very emotional today (I felt that my father gave me directions and that I should say yes to him at that time. So, I am very happy that this film has been made at such a great level, and I am very, very emotional today).”
