Ganderbal Press Association visits fire victim of Gund

Urges authorities to provide compensation to affected family

Ganderbal: Members of Ganderbal Press Association led by President Aftab Ah Mir visits the victim of a fire incident in Gund area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

A two storey residential house of Senior journalist and Member of Ganderbal press association Sheikh Anees was reduced to ashes in a fire that occurred on Tuesday.

While expressing their profound sympathy with the victim, they said, “The loss Sheikh family has endured is deeply distressing. The family has been rendered homeless due to this tragic incident. We want to reassure you that the GPA in unwavering solidarity with you during this period of sorrow.”

They have appealed the Civil societies, Musjid committees and other NGO’s to come forward and help the affected family to rebuild the new house.

They urged the government to provide immediate relief and adequate compensation to the affected family.

“They have requested the LG administration to ensure the swift reconstruction of their home, coupled with a comprehensive compensation package.
