In a grand ceremony held in Mumbai, Mr. Tariq Ahmad Shera was conferred with the prestigious Pride of Young Hindustan Award 2024. Organized by the Youngistan Foundation, this esteemed award recognized Mr. Shera’s exemplary contributions in the realms of art, culture, and social activism, specifically focusing on his efforts in promoting Kashmiri culture.
What sets Mr. Shera apart is his unique dedication to preserving Kashmir’s ethnic heritage and fostering young talent. As the sole nominee from Kashmir, his tireless endeavors in nurturing artists who have subsequently showcased their skills on national platforms have not gone unnoticed. Many of these proteges have graced television serials across various channels, a testament to Mr. Shera’s impactful mentorship.
During the pre-award ceremony, Mr. Shera captivated attendees by representing Kashmir’s rich culture. Adorned in a traditional karakuli and draped in a pashmina shawl, he not only showcased the cultural richness but also highlighted pressing societal issues. He actively participated in an anti-drug rally, vehemently advocating for stricter regulations against pharmacies dispensing medications to youths without proper prescriptions or parental consent.
