Srinagar, Mar 16 : National Conference (NC) leader and former Deputy Mayor SMC, Parvaiz Ahmad Qadri on Saturday resigned from the basic membership of the party.
Talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Qadri said that he has resigned from the basic membership of the party as the controversy was going on within the party after he participated in the function of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Srinagar.
“I got the invitation as being the former Deputy Mayor of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC). The controversy in this regard has taken place within the party, therefore, I decided to quit from the party,” he said.
He added that it was not the BJP’s rally but the Prime Minister’s function in Srinagar in which he participated. “I don’t want the party to be blamed for my action and thus decided to part ways from the party,” he said—(KNO)
