In a statement released today, Dr. Jan categorically denied the claims, stating that the allegations are baseless. However, the Medical Superintendent highlighted the stringent measures already in place to curb corrupt practices within the hospital premises. Notably, the entire hospital is under strict CCTV surveillance, with every nook and corner monitored to prevent any unethical activities.
“All wards, theatres, and sections are working under the overall supervision of Resident Medical Officers, Senior Supervisors, and In-charges, besides a Nodal Officer who minutely monitors their respective areas to curb any malpractice,” Dr Jan stated. Furthermore, the hospital has established a 24x7x365 control room (Room No. 125) to address complaints and grievances promptly. Signboards have been placed in sensitive areas, warning that offering or accepting bribes in any form is a punishable offense under relevant laws. “Daily public address system announcements are made to raise awareness among the general public, patients, and attendants, discouraging any unethical practices. Complaint boxes and registers have also been placed at various locations within the hospital premises for recording complaints or suggestions,” he said. During daily morning rounds, hospital authorities actively engage with the public, attendants, and patients to inquire if anyone has solicited bribes, even in the form of tea or other refreshments. The Medical Superintendent emphasised the hospital’s commitment to maintaining transparency and upholding ethical standards, assuring that strict action will be taken against anyone found engaging in.
