Ganderbal, May 25: A Maharashtra resident died after he got trapped under a snow slide at Thajwas glacier in Ganderbal’s Sonamarg area, officials said.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that two people got burier under a snow slide when they were sliding on Thajwas glacier.
He said that the duo was immediately rescued and shifted to PHC Sonamarg, where one of them was pronounced dead.
The deceased has been identified as Deepak Parlad Patel (38) son of Dr Jagdeah of Maharashtra.
Police have taken up congnisance of the matter—(KNO)
