Kupwara, Aug 27 : Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday seized a considerable amount of illicit alcohol and arrested three individuals in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that during a naka check by a police party from Police Post Bazar, three individuals were arrested along with 14 bottles of liquor and 12 cans of beer from their possession.
The arrested persons have been identified as Zamir Ahmad Khan, son of Zafferul Khan, resident of Mudden Keren, Safeer Ahmad Khatana, son of Jalal-ud-din Khatana, resident of Jumagund, Kupwara and Munner Ahmad Khan, son of Mohd Hussain Khan, resident of Zuharama in Kupwara.
Meanwhile, the official added that a case has been registered against the accused under section 50-A of the Excise Act at Police Station Kupwara while further investigation is underway—(KNO)
