Kangan : Class IV employees of the Power Development Corporation (PDC) sub-division in Kangan have voiced strong objections over their salaries being withheld for the past three months.

Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, the employees claimed that Executive Engineer Parvaiz Naikoo had withheld their salaries without providing any formal reason or order.

They stated that despite interventions from Member of Parliament Mian Altaf, his son and Kangan MLA Mian Mehar Ali, as well as the PDC’s MD and Chief Engineer, Naikoo has not budged.

Naikoo, however, defended his decision, pointing to alleged large-scale encroachment on PDC land, including over 1,000 walnut trees marked for auction.

He accused some employees, along with Assistant Executive Engineers, of illegally selling these trees for personal profit while he was away on election duty.

Naikoo insisted that he would release the withheld salaries only if employees submitted a written assurance pledging not to repeat such actions in the future.
