The HDFC Bank, as part of its CSR initiative ‘Parivartan’, has partnered with ISAP India Foundation in an exemplary effort to develop sustainable microenterprise and transform the rural agriculturalists in the six districts of Jammu & Kashmir region.
During the course of the project, multi-pronged activities focused on building value chains for key horticultural crops such as apples, walnuts, saffron and in six districts of Kashmir, and Ladakh. Infrastructure like apple grading and packing units, walnut processing units, soil testing laboratories, vacuum packaging machines, and renewable energy systems (solar lights) was developed to address critical gaps in processing, post-harvest management, and market linkages with six Farmer Producer Organisation (FPOs).
The infrastructure set up CSR initiative was officially handed over to the FPOs and farmers today, 21st Nov 2024, in the presence of HDFC Bank team, Board of Directors from FPOs, and ISAP team.
