Says increasing pension to Rs 3,000 per month under active consideration

Srinagar, Dec 06 (KNO): Minister for Health and Medical Education Sakina Itoo on Friday said that she will write to the Centre to release funds for pension of specially-abled, widows and other persons.

Speaking to reporters in Srinagar, Sakina Itoo, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that these persons have been getting pension on time but there are some who get it under ISSS scheme and they have been facing problems due to shortage of funds.

“We will write to the Government of India in this regard as a major share for the scheme that comes from the centre has been released,” she said.

She said that they are hopeful that they will get funds soon so that people who are waiting for their pension for a long time can get it.

She said that many specially-abled individuals and widows, who rely on these pensions as their primary source of income, face severe hardships due to lack of timely financial support. She added that Rs 1000 per month is very less and increasing it to Rs 3000 per month is under active consideration of the government—(KNO)
