Srinagar, January 2: Police on Thursday said that they conducted a mock drill at Railway station at the Amargarh area of North Kashmir’s Sopore.
In a handout to GNS, the police said that Sopore Police, in collaboration with Indian Army, CAPF, RPF, and the Fire & Emergency Service, conducted a mock drill at Railway Station Amargarh, Sopore to evaluate emergency response procedures and readiness for handling critical situations. The drill was specifically designed to train personnel to respond swiftly to potential emergencies, particularly those of a terrorist nature, ensuring a quick and coordinated response. The exercise also focused on assessing the effectiveness of security measures, response times, and identifying areas for improvement.
The police spokesman further stated that the superintendent of Police (SP), Divya D. IPS oversaw the drill and commended the efforts of the security forces in enhancing their emergency response capabilities. This mock drill is part of ongoing efforts by J&K Police to strengthen public safety and security, ensuring that forces are well-prepared to handle any situation effectively, reads the statement.(GNS)
