Ganderbal, February 15: In a compassionate effort to support the families of deceased workers, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, today disbursed Rs 60,44,625 as death compensation to the dependents of workers who tragically lost their lives while working at the Sonamarg Tunnel under APCO Company in Gagangeer.
This financial assistance has been granted under the Employees’ Compensation Act, 1923, ensuring rightful support to the families of workers who lost their lives while in service.
The compensation was sanctioned through the Court of Compensation Employees under Assistant Labour Commissioner Ganderbal, Hafsa Qayoom, in accordance with legal provisions that protect workers and their dependents in cases of workplace fatalities.
