GANDERBAL, APRIL 08: In view of the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) 2025, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore today chaired a high-level meeting of district officers to review the preparedness and arrangements being made from Baltal route.
The meeting witnessed detailed deliberations on various aspects of Yatra management, including provision of essential services such as water, electricity, healthcare, sanitation, drainage, verification and registration of service providers, firewood availability, and security arrangements.
The DC emphasized the need for robust planning and seamless inter-departmental coordination to ensure the smooth conduct of the Yatra.
While reviewing the progress on ongoing developmental works, he directed all departments to expedite their respective works and submit status reports.
Beacon authorities were instructed to initiate snow clearance on the Yatra track to facilitate movement and mobilization of other departments towards the Holy Cave.
The Executive Engineer KPDCL was asked to ensure completion of underground cabling up to the cave and illumination of all identified points.
The R&B Department was directed to begin execution of all approved projects including pony stand fencing, extension of excess gates, and expansion of the pony track.
Mobile service providers were urged to ensure uninterrupted mobile connectivity up to the Holy Cave with enhanced network capacity.
The DC also underscored the importance of maintaining sanitation, ensuring sufficient public conveniences at Baltal base camp and halting points, implementing a proper drainage system, and ensuring 24×7 power and water supply along the Yatra route.
SSP Ganderbal, Ragav S, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Syed Fahim Bihaqi, SDM Kangan, ACD Ganderbal, and Executive Engineers from Jal Shakti, PDD, I&FC and other line departments were present during the meeting.
In a separate meeting, the DC reviewed the Yatra security arrangements with concerned agencies including SSB, 24 RR, 13 RR, 115 BN CRPF, and 118 BN CRPF. The agencies briefed the DC on the security deployment plan covering the stretch from Shalteng to Baltal.
The SSP was tasked with finalizing deployment locations in coordination with all involved security forces for Yatra transit camps and critical points along the route.
