VC BGSBU Kick-starts Sports Week 2025

Rajouri, April 21, 2025 —The Vice Chancellor of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Prof. Jawaid Iqbal, today inaugurated the much-anticipated Sports Week 2025 at the University campus with great enthusiasm and fanfare.

In his inaugural speech, Prof. Jawaid Iqbal, Vice Chancellor, emphasized the importance of sports in the holistic development of students. He encouraged the participants to display true sportsmanship, discipline, and team spirit throughout the week-long event.

On the occasion, Prof. M J Warsi, Dean Academic Affairs, also addressed the gathering and appreciated the initiative aimed at promoting physical fitness and camaraderie among the students.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Dr. Rakesh Singh Sambyal, Incharge, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education.
The Sports Week 2025 features a wide range of athletic and indoor games, including
Tug of War, Badminton, Volleyball, Football, Kabaddi, Shot Put, Table Tennis, Chess, Carrom, Javelin Throw, Long Jump, and High Jump.

The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of the Chief Education Officer Rajouri, District Sports and Youth Services Officer Rajouri, faculty members, department heads, and enthusiastic students from various disciplines.

The university campus echoed with excitement and energy as students geared up to participate in various competitions throughout the week. The event promises to be a celebration of talent, physical prowess, and unity.
