Srinagar, July 26: The Global Human Rights Trust (GHRT) India organised the International Conference on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the prestigious Uttam Bharat Puraskar 2025 at Tagore Hall, Srinagar on Saturday. The event drew national attention for its strong emphasis on sustainable development and recognition of India’s grassroots achievers.
The event was graced by the Hon’ble Chief Guest, Dr. Darakshan Andrabi, Minister of State and Chairperson of the J&K WAQF Board, who addressed the gathering with a compelling message on the importance of inclusivity, cultural preservation, and grassroots leadership in India’s developmental journey.
Special guests included Dr. Sanket Kharpude, Member of the Ministry of Communication, Government of India, and Mrs. Sushma Muppidi, Brand Ambassador of the Telangana Biodiversity Board. Academic dignitaries like Dr. Shohab Innayat Malik, Director of SVAPADA and Principal of IMFA, also addressed the audience.
The event opened with a welcome address by Dr. H. R. Rehman, Chairman of GHRT India, followed by thematic sessions on Sustainable Development Goals. Scholars and activists including Dr. Nadeem Niyaz Jan, Ms. Mominah Manzoor, and Prof. Dr. Mohsin Bashir Dar spoke on SDG integration in youth policies, health, education, and community empowerment.
Uttam Bharat Puraskar 2025 Presented to 52 National Achievers
GHRT India conferred the Uttam Bharat Puraskar 2025 upon 52 individuals for their exceptional service in education, healthcare, social activism, environmental advocacy, administration, and literature. The recipients hailed from different regions and represented diverse communities making significant contributions to nation-building.

Book Launch and Closing Ceremony
The conference also featured the official launch of a book titled “Panchayati Raj Institutions & Municipal Council in India”, authored by Dr. Nazrul Islam, Director of GHRT Kashmir. The closing session included addresses from educationalists, civil society leaders, and private sector representatives.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Nadeem Niyaz Jan and closing remarks by Mr. Junaid Ul Islam, followed by a group photograph, media interaction, and networking over high tea.
