GANDERBAL POLICE CRACKS MINOR GIRL MURDER CASE WITHIN HOURS; ELDER SISTER ARRESTED.

GANDERBAL 19th August, 2025: In a swift and professional action, Ganderbal Police successfully solved the recent murder case of a minor girl at Batsar Sehpora Ganderbal, arrested the victim’s elder sister for her involvement in the heinous crime.

At about 11:20 hours on 17.08.2025, Police Station Kheerbawani received information from reliable sources that a girl was lying in an unconscious condition at Batsar Sehpora, Ganderbal. Acting promptly, a police team rushed to the spot who found the body of a minor girl name withheld lying in the paddy fields with severe head injuries. The body was taken into police custody for medico-legal formalities.

Accordingly, Case FIR No. 29/2025 U/S 103(1) BNS was registered at PS Kheerbawani, and investigation was set into motion.

Taking serious note of the incident, SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by Dy.SP Hqrs Ganderbal to probe, it was alleged that deceased was abducted by unknown persons. However, with the help of technical evidence and CCTV footage, abduction angle was ruled out.

During sustained interrogation of suspects and statement of persons acquainted with facts of the case it came to fore that both sisters to had gone to the paddy fields where duo had argument over trifle issue followed by scuffle and the elder sister (name withheld) struck with a wooden rod on her resultant she die on spot.

The accused who is elder sister of deceased was arrested who confessed to her crime and based upon her disclosure Police recovered weapon of offence.

All relevant evidences have been collected and the accused has been presented before the court.
