Bandipora, August 2024: In a proud achievement for Bandipora district, Ms. Tahira Tabasum, District Mission Coordinator, Mission Shakti, Department of Social Welfare Bandipora, has been conferred with the prestigious National Youth Excellence Award 2024-25.
The award was presented during the National Youth Exchange Programme, organized by Live For Others – Being Helpful Foundation in collaboration with the University of Jammu. Ms. Tabasum was recognized not only for her present work under Mission Shakti, but also for her impactful contributions as a faculty member at RSETI and her consistent involvement in various social welfare initiatives at the grassroots level. Her dedication to women empowerment, youth development, and community service has made a lasting impact across the district and beyond.
Along with Ms. Tabasum, three other young achievers from Kashmir were also honored with the award. These include Mr. Tariq Ahmad Shera from Srinagar, Ms. Mehaq from Sopore (Baramulla), and Ms. Ruqia Bano from Bandipora. The recognition of four youth from Kashmir among awardees from across the country has been hailed as a moment of collective pride for the Valley, showcasing the talent, resilience, and commitment of Kashmiri youth in fields of social service, art, culture, and empowerment.
