Be Aware and Alert about Financial Frauds: Mr Sudha LDO RBI

Ganderbal, 22nd August 2025:
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), in collaboration with the Lead District Office Ganderbal, FLCC Ganderbal, and CFL Safapora, organized a Mega Awareness Programme on Social Security Schemes and Financial Literacy at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Kurhama, Block Wakura.

The event was graced by Mr. Sudha, LDO RBI, as the Chief Guest, accompanied by LDM Ganderbal Mr. Fida Hussain, FLCC Ganderbal Malik Zahoor, CFL Safapora Centre Manager Riyaz Ahmad, and other bank officials. The distinguished presence of Principal Ms. Asifa Jan along with the entire faculty added to the vibrancy of the program.

The programme commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by Naath Sharif, and a welcome song presented by students led by Muneesa and group. The welcome address was delivered by faculty member Mr. Gulzar Ahmad Bhat.

Key speakers included Mr. Sudha (LDO RBI), Mr. Fida Hussain (LDM Ganderbal), Malik Zahoor (FLCC Ganderbal), Riyaz Ahmad (CFL Safapora), Bilal Bhat Coordinator CFLSafapora (Campaigner & Social Reformer), and Mr. Ishfaq Majeed Parah.

The Chief Guest highlighted the role of RBI in financial inclusion and apprised students about banking services and financial literacy. He said about the clean note policy of Reserve Bank of India. He stressed on saving schemes of all financial institutions . In his address participants were seen very much active while acknowledging the speech of Chief Guest.

Mr Malik Zahoor Sahib FLCC Ganderbal educated the participants about Social Security Schemes including PMSBY, PMJJBY, and APY.

Bilal Bhat spoke about RSETI Ganderbal, distributed enrollment forms on the spot, and sensitized the gathering on digital frauds and gambling apps.

Riyaz Ahmad (CFL Safapora) highlighted the importance of Mission YUVA and social security coverage for youth.

On the occasion, Mr. Sudha (LDO RBI), LDM Ganderbal, and Principal Ms. Asifa Jan jointly launched the IEC (Information, Education & Communication) material on various Social Security Schemes for the purpose of awareness and enrollment.

The event also witnessed enthusiastic participation of students, who were found highly aware about financial literacy, digital frauds, and the risks of gambling apps. A lively question–answer session was conducted, during which 10 students were awarded winners’ gifts for their correct responses on financial literacy and social security schemes.

The Chief Guest appreciated the school management for successfully hosting the event with enthusiasm and efficiency. Principal Ms. Asifa Jan honored the Chief Guest with a bouquet and, in her concluding remarks, emphasized the importance of financial literacy for students’ future empowerment.

Special appreciation was extended to Mr. Bilal Bhat, who remained on his toes to make the event a success with the active support of all faculty members—especially Cultural Organising Committee Head Ms. Fidousa Akhter, Mr. Firdous Ahmad Bhat, Mr. Rahil, Mr. Gh. Hassan, Suhail Sahib, and Mr. Irshad Ahmad—whose dedication and participation ensured the smooth conduct of the programme.

LDM Ganderbal Mr. Fida Hussain assured the institution of continued support, cooperation, and guidance from the banking fraternity. The event was moderated by Bilal Bhat and concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Principal Ms. Asifa Jan.

The programme witnessed the enthusiastic participation of hundreds of students, faculty members, and bank officials, marking it as a significant step towards spreading financial literacy and awareness among the youth of Ganderbal.
