KUPWARA, SEPTEMBER 9: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress achieved under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojna.
During the meeting, Executive Engineers of KPDCL Handwara and Kupwara were directed to give special focus to increasing the pace of the installation of rooftop solar panels so that maximum households are benefitted with the scheme which aims to reduce the power bill of the consumers.
On the occasion, various vendors raised their issues before the chair about pendencies from different bank branches in disbursal of the loan applications. The DC directed the Lead District Manager to ensure clearing of all pending cases within a weeks’ time positively. He directed the KPDCL to hold door to door surveys to know the interests of the people who have applied under the scheme so that the interested households are facilitated.
The meeting was attended by CPO, Executive Engineers of PDD Kupwara and Handwara, AEEs, LDM, CSC Manager and registered vendors.
It was informed that 16000 applications have been received in the district so far out of which 403 solar rooftops have been installed.
