A young creator from Kashmir’s Anantnag district, Saadath Mohi-ud-din, has taken a bold leap of faith, quitting his job as a Creative Designer to launch a unique 20-second comedy short series — The Aapa Podcast.

The show  stars Saadath alongside his grandmother, Taja Begum, lovingly called “Aapa,” whose unfiltered wit and raw humor form the heartbeat of the episodes. What started as a simple idea has now turned into a cultural moment. Within just one month, the podcast has crossed a staggering 1 crore views across social media, capturing hearts far beyond Kashmir.

Breaking down the numbers, The Aapa Podcast has pulled in 32 lakh views on Instagram, 58 lakh on Facebook, and 14 lakh on Snapchat. The growth has been nothing short of phenomenal — with one standout reel of Aapa’s signature roasting style crossing 1 million views in just 12 hours and being shared nearly 90,000 times.

But the real magic lies in what the podcast represents. Beyond the laughs, it celebrates the special bond between grandmother and grandchild, wrapped in the authentic Kashmiri flavor that makes it deeply relatable. Viewers aren’t just entertained; they see reflections of their own families, their own stories, and the timeless wisdom of elders mixed with the playful banter of youth.

Speaking about his journey, Saadath said: “It wasn’t easy to leave a stable job, but I wanted to put my full energy into something that truly excites me. The love we’ve received proves that I made the right choice”

With its lightning-fast rise and ability to strike an emotional chord, The Aapa Podcast is no longer just content it’s a movement. It shows how raw authenticity and family bonds can resonate universally, making Saadath and Aapa not just local sensations, but voices of humor, love, and togetherness from the valley to the world.
