Ganderbal 15 Nov 2025: The 60-day vocational training programme on Cutting and Tailoring was successfully inaugurated today at Town Hall, Ganderbal. A total of 40 young women participated in the opening ceremony and have enrolled for the training.
The programme was formally inaugurated by the Chief Guest Shri Mukesh Singh Yadav, Commandant, 13th Battalion SSB. In his address, he emphasized that such skill development initiatives play a vital role in empowering women and making them self-reliant.
The training is being conducted by the J&K Youth Development Forum, whose centre is located at Tantray Complex, Beehama Ganderbal. The institute will provide comprehensive training to the participants on modern techniques of sewing, cutting, and tailoring.
The 13th Battalion SSB has been regularly organizing various community welfare and skill development programmes aimed at promoting awareness, self-reliance, and employment-oriented skills among the local population.
The event was attended by faculty members of the institute, print and electronic media personnel, representatives of the J&K Youth Development Forum, and officers of the 13th Battalion SSB.
