DC leads reading of ‘Preamble to the Constitution’ at Mini-Secretariat Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, NOVEMBER 26: District Administration Ganderbal today participated in the UT level celebration of Constitution Day (Samvidhaan Diwas) celebrated every year on 26th of November, joining the mass Preamble reading ceremony led by Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor J&K, Shri Manoj Sinha.

In this connection a grand mass Preamble reading ceremony was organised here in the lawns of the Mini Secretariat Complex, Ganderbal lead by Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Assistant Commissioner Development/ Panchayat, officers and officials from various departments of the district participated in the event, reaffirming their commitment to uphold the values and principles enshrined in the Constitution of India.

Speaking on the occasion, DC said that on 26th November 1949, our Constituent Assembly had adopted the Constitution and since then the occasion is celebrated every year. He said all the people had assembled here today to mark the event and pledge to uphold the values of the constitution and commit to protect and uphold the rights of citizens.

Following the ceremony, a Mini Marathon was flagged-off jointly by Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal and SSP Ganderbal from the Clock Tower Ganderbal, witnessing enthusiastic participation from students, local youth and officials. The marathon aimed to spread awareness about constitutional values and promote the spirit of unity and national integrity.

Meanwhile, Preamble reading ceremonies were also held in all government departments, educational institutions, etc. Also, special assemblies were organised in schools & colleges, besides screening of short films/ documentaries in addition to wall paintings.

Moreover, a series of week-long activities will be conducted across all educational institutions in district Ganderbal to promote constitutional values among students. The programme will include quizzes, debates, essay writing, slogan competitions, poster making, and special assemblies highlighting the importance of the Constitution.
