Assures time-bound redressal of public issues

DODA, DECEMBER 24: A Public Grievance Redressal Programme was today held at village Gurmul, Doda under the weekly Block Diwas programme.

Deputy Commissioner (DC), Harvinder Singh chaired the outreach camp aimed to strengthen direct engagement between the administration and the people, assess developmental requirements of the area, listen and redress the public grievances pertaining to basic amenities, education, healthcare etc.

The public raised several important issues seeking improvement in medical facilities, restoration and proper demarcation of roads, installation of crash barriers at accident-prone locations, streamlining the functioning of the allopathic dispensary and meeting the shortage of staff at the local Government Higher Secondary School.

Additional demands highlighted by the residents included adequate power supply, construction of school buildings, up-gradation of facilities at the Anganwadi Centre (AWC), construction of drains along the roads to safeguard residential areas and development of a playground to encourage sports and recreational activities among children.

The Deputy Commissioner patiently listened to the grievances and held detailed deliberations with the line departments regarding the same. He issued clear directions for on-the-spot assessment and prioritization of urgent issues, particularly those related to road restoration, healthcare delivery, educational infrastructure and public safety measures, including installation of crash barriers and drainage construction.

The Deputy Commissioner assured the locals that all genuine demands would be duly examined and incorporated into forthcoming developmental plans.
