SAMBA, JANUARY 06: Deputy Commissioner Samba, Ayushi Sudan today convened a meeting to review the implementation and progress of the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PM-SYM) scheme in the district.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need to maximize coverage of workers in the unorganised sector to ensure they are brought under the ambit of social security benefits. “The PM-SYM scheme envisages securing the future of workers to bring them under the ambit of  social security mechanisms,” she said and asked the stakeholder departments to intensify grassroots-level mobilization and awareness efforts.

Departments were instructed to identify eligible beneficiaries within their respective jurisdictions and facilitate their enrollment through focused field-level activities.

To ensure effective monitoring and timely execution, each department was assigned a target and the officers were directed to submit day-wise progress reports.

The meeting also stressed the importance of close coordination with field staff, CSC centres, PRIs and concerned agencies to conduct on-the-spot registration and awareness drives.

The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, PO ICDS, ACD, CEO, CMO, ALC Samba, AD Handicrafts, AD Handloom and other concerned officers.
