Gratitude: Hazaro’n saal Nargis apni be-noori pe roti hai

Gratitude

Hazaro’n saal Nargis apni be-noori pe roti hai
Badi Mushkil se hota hai chaman mein Didawar paida

Sofi Abdul Rehman Qadri, former Imam/Khateeb, dedicated his entire life to teaching — propagating worldly education during his professional life, besides creating avenues and awareness, and spreading religious knowledge — in the way enlightening people from all walks of life. He touched and transformed the lives of innumerable people, showing them the true light of Islam. Sofi sahab remained a Sufi all his life, propagating the true teachings of Islam, earning respect and reverence from all sects of Islam and across the political divide.
He left an everlasting impression on the people and remained committed to the cause of ALLAH(SWT) and especially to unity in the Ummah.
But, the time came. As they say, everyone has to taste death. Sofi sahab, popularly known as ‘Toth’ not just in the family, but in the entire district Ganderbal and among his friends, left for heavenly abode on 23rd Ramzaan — Wednesday, April 3, 2024.
The ‘Didawar’ — one with true vision — that he was, his passing away from this temporary world is not a loss to the family only, but to the people and Ahle Sunnat as a whole. It is a huge void, one which cannot be filled.
Sad as we all are, at the same time, we feel content that he is happy to meet his Creator. We also feel happy to note that he dedicated his life to serve the people and religion — a life worth living.
May ALLAH(SWT) guide us, as his family, and those whose life he touched in one way or the other, to live our lives according to the teachings of Islam and the way Sofi sahab would want, on the path he has laid for us.

In the last four-five days, Thousands of people came to express their condolences with the family and express their sympathies on the loss.

We would like to express our heart-felt gratitude to each and everyone of them for being with us at the time of our bereavement.
We take this opportunity to thank the scores of individuals, Imams, Khateebs, religious scholars and organisations including Minhaj-Ul Quran International, Tehreek Sautul Auliya J&K, Karwan-e-Islami International, Anjumane Dawate Minhaj ul Islam, Anjuman Jamat ul Islam, Dawat-e-Islami J&K, Qamaria Muslim Waqf Trust, Darul Uloom Ghousia Sherpatri, Darul Uloom Fatima U Zahra Sindbal, Darul Uloom Hanfiya Arch, and Shah-e Hamdan Memorial Trust Pampore, among others.

We thank from the core of our heart those who threw light on Sofi sahab’s life and his teachings.

We also want to thank leaders of various social organisations, political outfits, journalists, trade bodies, and employees from Health and other departments for standing with us at this juncture.

We express our gratitude to those as well who couldn’t visit but called us on phones.
We wish everyone well and request all to keep praying for Sofi sahab and keep us also in your prayers.

A big thank you to you all. ALLAH(SWT) BLESS all.

Sofi Abdul Rehman Qadri’s family
Reshipora, Saloora Ganderbal.
