Leopard captured in Srinagar outskirts

Srinagar, Feb 21, KNT: Wild Life Department Tuesday captured a leopard in Bagandar Lasjan area of Srinagar outskirts.

The leopard was seen roaming in the area by some locals during pre-dawn hours when they were on their way to the mosque to offer ‘fajar’ prayers.

An alert was sounded and announcements were made using the public address system of the mosque asking people, especially children not to venture out.

“Locals informed us on phone and our team rushed to the spot and captured the animal with the assistance of locals,” an official from Wild Life Department told Kashmir News Trust. [KNT]
