ARTO Kulgam Conducts Enforcement Drive, Issues 120 Challans and Collects ₹89,500 in Fines

Kulgam, Nov 16 : In a concerted effort to ensure road safety and curb traffic violations, the Assistant Regional Transport Office (ARTO) Kulgam conducted a rigorous enforcement drive today. Led by ARTO Abrar Ahmed Kripak (JKAS) and supported by a team including Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) Shahid Cherag, MVTA Suhail Ahmad Wani, Shabir Ahmad Dar, and other staff, the drive resulted in 120 challans and a total fine collection of ₹89,500.

The drive focused on violations such as wrong parking, dangerous driving, and failure to adhere to basic safety measures like wearing helmets and seatbelts.

The offence-wise details are as follows: Wrong Parking (Section 201): 45 challans issued, ₹22,500 collected; Dangerous Driving (Section 184): 3 challans issued, ₹3,000 collected; Without Helmet (Section 194D): 30 challans issued, ₹30,000 collected; Without Seatbelt (Section 194B): 20 challans issued, ₹20,000 collected; Overloading with Extra Passengers (Section 194A): 20 challans issued, ₹4,000 collected; Without Driving License (Section 181): 2 challans issued, ₹10,000 collected.

The ARTO Kulgam emphasized the department’s commitment to ensuring public safety and urged citizens to comply with traffic rules to avoid penalties and ensure safer roads.
