Sopore, Feb 5: Advocate Mursaleen, who contested the Assembly elections from Sopore on an AIP (Awami Itihad Party) ticket and secured 6,700 votes, has announced her disassociation from the party.
In an emotional statement, Mursaleen emphasized that her decision has no bearing on her respect and love for AIP chief Er. Rashid, wishing him freedom. However, she made it clear that she is stepping away from the party in every manner.
“Without pinching the interest of many, I hereby declare my disassociation from AIP. I have not decided on my next course of action but will soon update my well-wishers,” she stated.
She reassured her supporters that she is not abandoning her people or her constituency, vowing to remain with them “till her last breath.” Describing her exit as a painful moment, she compared it to the grief she felt when bidding farewell to her father.
Mursaleen’s departure from AIP raises questions about her future political plans, with speculations on her next move expected in the coming days.
