Srinagar, Mar 6: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday raided multiple locations linked to Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, a Junior Engineer (JE) in the Jal Shakti Department, Baramulla, over disproportionate assets allegations.

ACB teams searched Bhat’s residence at Jawahar Nagar, Srinagar, and his ancestral home in Safapora, Ganderbal, under FIR No. 04/2025, citing violations of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (Amendment 2018). Officials suspect Bhat of accumulating illicit wealth far beyond his legitimate earnings. The raids were ongoing at the time of reporting.

This development has sparked debate over corruption within government departments, raising concerns about deep-rooted financial misconduct among officials.
