GANDERBAL POLICE DESTROYS WILD CANNABIS, ORGANIZES ANTI-DRUG RALLIES AND DEBATES IN PS KHEERBAWANI JURISDICTION

GANDERBAL 25th JULY, 2025: In its unwavering fight against the menace of drug abuse, Ganderbal Police, in collaboration with civil society members and Students, launched a comprehensive anti-drug campaign in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kheerbawani.

As part of the campaign, a large-scale wild cannabis (Bhung) destruction drive was carried out at Sehpora and Kurag areas. The drive was conducted under the directions of SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS and led by SHO PS Kheerbawani along with dedicated police teams. Students from various schools actively participated, demonstrating strong public involvement in the cause.

In addition to the destruction drive, awareness rallies and debate competitions were organized to sensitize the youth and local residents about the harmful effects of drug abuse. The events witnessed enthusiastic participation from school students and members of the community, showcasing a united front against narcotic threats.

Ganderbal Police reaffirms its steadfast commitment to creating a drug-free society and calls upon the general public to extend their cooperation in this mission.

Citizens are urged to report any information regarding illegal cultivation of cannabis or poppy. Strict legal action will be taken against those found involved.
