Budgam August 14: As part of its sustained campaign to safeguard youth from drug abuse, J&K Police alongwith Revenue and Excise Department, carried out a large-scale drive to destroy wild cannabis across district Budgam.
Extensive patches of wild bung were destroyed on-site along roadsides, near parks, and on riverbanks within Budgam’s jurisdiction. The drive was conducted under the supervision of SSP Budgam. During the drive, police officials also engaged with locals to raise awareness about the dangers of drug addiction and the legal consequences of cultivating or trafficking narcotics.
Police reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy towards drug trafficking and illegal cultivation, vowing to continue such operations across the district, and urged citizens to report any such illegal activities to help build a drug-free society.“`
