Mismatch in Holiday, Sajad Lone Seeks Special Leave for Employees on Festival Day

JK News Live

Srinagar, Sept 6: Peoples Conference chairman Sajad Lone has urged the Jammu and Kashmir administration to sanction special casual leave for Muslim employees today in view of the mismatch between the declared holiday and the actual date of the religious festival.

Taking to social media platform X, Lone said that such measures were a routine practice in cases of restricted holidays and should be extended this time as well to avoid inconvenience to employees.

“It is a request to the government of the day to sanction special casual leave for Muslim employees across J&K today, given the mismatch between declared holiday and actual festival date. It is a routine practice in case of restricted holidays,” Lone wrote.

His appeal comes as several employees reportedly faced confusion due to the discrepancy between the official holiday notification and the observance of the Eid-Milad on the ground.
