JK News Live

Srinagar, Sep 28 (JKNS): The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Sunday issued the latest weather advisory for Jammu and Kashmir, predicting largely dry conditions for the next several days, with a possibility of rain and light snowfall over higher reaches in the coming week.

MET Director Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad as per news agency JKNS said that the weather across the Union Territory is expected to remain generally dry from September 26 to 30, continuing through October 1 to 4.

However, from October 5 to 7, scattered places in J&K are likely to witness generally cloudy conditions with intermittent light to moderate rainfall in plains and light snowfall over higher reaches. Following this period, dry weather is expected again from October 8 to 10.

The MET Centre has issued an advisory for farmers, urging them to continue harvesting paddy and other horticultural crops and ensure safe storage and proper handling of produce till October 4 (afternoon).

Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad also highlighted a gradual fall in daytime temperatures starting September 29, with a significant drop expected on October 5 and 6, especially in higher altitudes.

The advisory aims to help farmers and residents prepare for the upcoming weather changes and safeguard crops and daily activities. (JKNS)
