Shopian, Oct 14 (GNS): Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday launched massive search operations at the residences of several former Hurriyat activists and Jamaat-e-Islami members across different areas of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

As per officials, the searches were carried out in connection with ongoing investigations aimed at curbing anti-national activities and maintaining peace and security in the district. Police teams conducted coordinated raids at multiple locations to verify certain inputs and gather relevant evidence, they said.

Officials further added that these operations are part of the continuing drive by Shopian Police to keep a close watch on elements with past links to banned organisations and to ensure that no unlawful activities are revived in the area. (GNS)
