Ruhullah Recommends Development Works Worth Over Rs 5.37 Crore Across Multiple Districts of Kashmir Valley

Srinagar, Nov 21, KNT: Member Parliament, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi has recommended developmental works amounting to more than five crore rupees across five districts of the Kashmir Valley. The Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) document, accessed by the news agency Kashmir News Trust, titled ‘Total Works Recommended’ lists infrastructure projects proposed for Srinagar, Budgam, Pulwama, Shopian and Ganderbal.

The recommendations span a wide range of public needs, including road construction, drinking water supply, drainage facilities, community halls, substations, irrigation systems, street lighting and procurement of medical equipment.

In Srinagar district, the list includes renovation of community halls, construction of retaining walls, laying of drinking water pipelines at Akhoon Mohalla, Rainawari and Khanyar, construction of drains in Qalamdanpora, Nawabazar, Lal Bazar and Hawal, and development of lanes and link roads in Jamalata, Fateh Kadal, Zaldagar and other localities.

Pulwama district features projects such as the installation of street lights in Aripal and Dadsara, creation of 63 KVA substations, construction of tile lanes in Tral and Batnoor, development of irrigation wells, embankments at Parigam, and procurement of medical equipment for SDH Pampore. Multiple tube-wells and borewells have also been recommended across Tral, Pampore, Newa and Rajpora blocks.

The recommendations for the Shopian district include the establishment of new tube-wells at Tukroo, Tengwani, Nazneenpora and Sarab. The list also highlights electrification improvements, protection walls and community infrastructure for several areas.

In Ganderbal, the document notes the construction of the Chunwar lift irrigation scheme, installation of park lighting in Kangan, procurement of LED lights for various blocks, construction of a footbridge at Gund, and purchase of medical equipment for PHCs in Lar and Kangan.

Budgam district features numerous works, including the creation of 63 KVA and 100 KVA substations, stabilization of LT networks in Khansahib, installation of borewells in Panzan and other locations, construction of drains, boundary walls, public toilets, and development of link roads in Bugchilu, Talpora, Shamsabad and Babakhar.

The total value of all recommended works stands at ₹5,37,05,411.49.

The office of the Aga Ruhullah said that these MPLADS-based recommendations aim to address developmental gaps by supporting targeted civic infrastructure in areas where inhabitants have been demanding improvements in water supply, roads, electrification and community facilities. [KNT]
