DDC Reasi reviews progress of JJM, functioning of Revenue Department

REASI, JANUARY 20: District Development Commissioner Reasi, Nidhi Malik, today chaired a meeting to review the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the district.

During the meeting, the DDC reviewed the physical and financial progress of various JJM schemes under implementation. She also took stock of scheme-wise achievements.

The District Development Commissioner also reviewed the progress under the Water and Sanitation Mission, laying emphasis on improved service delivery and ensuring a sustainable and reliable water supply to households.

Emphasizing the importance of close inter-departmental coordination, the DDC stressed strict adherence to prescribed timelines to achieve the objectives of the mission in an effective manner.

The meeting was attended by CPO Narinder Kumar, CEO Deepak Gupta, Executive Engineers and other concerned officers.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner chaired a meeting to review the overall functioning of the Revenue Department in the district.

The Deputy Commissioner assessed the progress of the 7th Minor Irrigation Census and the 2nd Census of Water Bodies being conducted under the Irrigation Census Scheme. She directed Tehsildars to ensure the inclusion of all additional water bodies in the revenue records to achieve comprehensive and accurate data.

The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the progress of the digitisation of Jamabandis and assessed the achievements made so far in the digitisation and freezing of the same across the district. She instructed the concerned officers to expedite the ongoing work and ensure that Jamabandis are digitised and frozen in all villages within the stipulated time frame. She further directed the officers to promptly prepare compensation cases of damaged houses, ensuring that no genuine case is left out.

Emphasising the importance of accuracy and timeliness, the Deputy Commissioner urged the officers to maintain updated and error-free records, stating that efficient record management is vital for enhancing transparency and improving public service delivery.

The meeting was attended by ADDC Sukhdev Singh Samyal, ADC Rakesh Kumar and ACR Nitin Verma, while SDMs and Tehsildars joined the meeting through virtual mode.
