The event marked yet another successful employment opportunity to local youth

Ganderbal, Jan 22: In a significant move toward women’s empowerment and skill-based livelihoods, a grand felicitation ceremony was held today to mark the successful completion of a vocational training course in cutting and tailoring.

The two-month training program was organized by the Future Institute of Education and Skill Development Ganderbal, in collaboration with the 13 BN Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), located at Dignibal Nagbal, under the force’s Civic Action Programme.

The event was graced by Shri Imtiaz Ismail Parray (IPS), DIG Sector HQ Srinagar, who served as the Chief Guest. He was joined by Shri Mukesh Singh Yadav, CO 13 Bn SSB and Abid Rasool Bhat, Director of the Future Institute of Education and Skill Development.

During the ceremony, 40 girl trainees from the local area were awarded course completion certificates. These young women are now equipped with professional skills designed to foster financial independence and entrepreneurship.

Addressing the gathering, DIG Imtiaz Ismail Parray praised the dedication of the trainees and reaffirmed the SSB’s commitment to the community. He announced that this is only the beginning, promising further advanced courses and free training sessions to be conducted at the Future Institute to ensure the local youth remain competitive in the job market.

“Our goal through the Civic Action Programme is to bridge the gap between skill and opportunity. By empowering these young women, we are strengthening the fabric of the entire community,” the DIG said.

Social activist Bilal Ahmad Bhat and teacher cum socio-political activist Bilal Wani also spoke at the event. They lauded the SSB for going beyond their security mandates to provide job-oriented training. They highlighted that such collaborations are essential for steering the youth toward productive and sustainable career paths.

The Future Institute of Education and Skill Development is a Ministry-registered training center operating under the J&K Youth Development Forum (NGO). The forum is patronized by noted activist Farooq Ganderbali, with Shehriyar Dar serving as its President. The institute continues to be a hub for vocational excellence in the region, focusing on grassroots development.
