Tourists throng J&K stall, Kashmiri kehwa, VR videos captivate visitors
JAMMU, JANUARY 27: The J&K Tourism Department participated in the leading annual global trade fair for tourism FITUR in IFEMA Madrid held from 21st to 25th January 2026.
The delegation of J&K Tourism was headed by Nasir Aslam Wani Advisor to the Chief Minister. Besides, the delegation was comprised of Joint Director Tourism Kashmir Waseem Raja and Joint Director Tourism Jammu Ajaz Kaiser Malik.
The event was also attended by tour operators of J&K.
The highlight of the event was the facility of Virtual Reality (VR) which was introduced first time by the J&K Tourism Department. Visitors were mesmerised by watching the captivating videos of landscapes through the VR mode.
Besides, the display of arts and crafts of J&K like Paper Machine, Basholi Paintings, Wicker Willow enthralled the foreign visitors. The Kashmiri Kehwa became a huge attraction among the foreign visitors. The beautifully designed J&K stall with aesthetic display of arts and crafts received huge appreciation from the visitors and officials of the Ministry as well as the Embassy.
The event started with inauguration of J&K Tourism Stall on 21st January by Advisor to CM, with senior officers from Indian Embassy in Spain, officers of Ministry for Tourism Govt of India and leading tour operators participating in the inaugural.
In order to promote J&K Tourism at the global level, the J&K Tourism Department hosted a high tea for the tour operators on 22nd Jan 2026. The event was attended by a large number of leading tour operators and media persons. The event was graced by Ambassador of India in Spain and Advisor to CM J&K.
Besides, the Advisor to Chief Minister also attended a high profile meeting on promotion of Tourism hosted by the Indian Embassy in Spain on 23rd January.
During the five day event, the Advisor to the Chief Minister held meetings with various prominent tour operators and media persons for promotion of J&K Tourism at the global level.
The event concluded on 25th January 2026.
