Srinagar, Mar 29 (KNO): National Conference (NC) Vice President and former chief minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said that the Election commission of India seems to be in no hurry to conduct elections, saying that it has been managing to delay the polls further.
“It’s been 8 years since the last assembly elections & 5 years since J&K had an elected government. Its plainly obvious the BJP in J&K is terrified of facing the people but it isn’t the job of the Election Commission to give the BJP a shield to cower behind,” Omar as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) tweeted.
“When asked about assembly elections in J&K the Chief Election Commissioner acknowledged “a vaccum that needs to be filled”. Yet surprisingly the @ECISVEEP seems to be in no hurry to conduct elections, on the contrary they manage to find new excuses to delay polls,” Omar tweeted—(KNO)
